Google Ads Management for Law Firms
Legal clicks are expensive. I set up the account so the spend turns into signed cases you can count.
What I handle
- One campaign per practice area, each with its own budget and landing page
- Ad schedules that match when intake actually answers the phone
- Negative keywords for students, job seekers and free legal aid searches
- Call tracking with duration filters, and signed cases imported back into Google Ads
- A monthly review of search terms and cost per signed case by practice area
What the numbers look like
| Metric | Median |
|---|---|
| Cost per click | $9.87 |
| Click-through rate | 5.87% |
| Conversion rate | 5.55% |
| Cost per lead | $131.63 |

Practice areas need their own campaigns
A personal injury lead, a divorce consultation and a DUI defense call have different values, different urgency and different intake questions. Mixing them in one campaign hides which area actually pays.
I give each practice area its own campaign, keywords and landing page, and set budgets by what a signed case in that area is worth to the firm.
Intake decides what the ads are worth
Legal leads are often urgent. If calls go to voicemail during business hours or after hours, the click is wasted and the caller signs with the next firm. I match ad schedules to intake coverage and track missed calls as a problem, not a conversion.
Searches I block from day one
Legal keywords attract students, job seekers and people looking for free help:
- law school, paralegal, legal assistant jobs, salary
- free legal aid, pro bono (test, depends on the firm)
- how to file, forms, template, diy
- law definition, statute meaning (research searches)
How I work and what it costs
I work by the hour at $50, with no retainer and no percentage of ad spend. We start with one hour on Zoom going through your account, or your plan if you are not running ads yet. Then I set up or fix the campaigns and tracking, and after that most accounts need one hour a month to review search terms, leads and budget.
You keep ownership of the Google Ads account and all the data. If you want to run it yourself later, everything is set up so you can.
