AI Google Ads Campaign Management for Small Business. Human-Supervised.

The low cost that AI makes possible, with a human PPC manager checking every week that it is spending your money on the right things.

$50 an hour. No retainer. No percentage of ad spend. You keep your account.

Google Ads is now run mostly by Google's own AI. It sets the bids, decides which searches your ads match, and writes new versions of your headlines. That is why a small business can get good results without paying an agency retainer. It is also why accounts drift: the AI optimizes toward whatever signal it gets, and nobody is checking what it actually bought.

What the AI does, and what I do

Google's AI, every minute

  • Sets bids for each auction with Smart Bidding
  • Matches your ads to searches beyond your keyword list (broad match, AI Max)
  • Generates headline and description variations
  • Picks placements across Search, YouTube and other Google surfaces in Performance Max

Me, one hour a week

  • Reads the search terms the AI matched you to and blocks the wrong ones
  • Checks that conversion tracking still counts real leads and sales
  • Watches budget pacing and cost per lead or ROAS
  • Adjusts targets, pauses what does not pay and moves budget to what does
  • Reviews AI-written ads and landing page choices before they cost you

Why AI campaigns need a supervisor

AI campaign features are built to find more conversions. Google says advertisers who turn on AI Max typically see more conversions or conversion value at a similar cost. That only helps if the conversions are real. If the account counts a 10-second call or a spam form as a lead, the AI will go and find more of them, very efficiently.

AI Max also expands the searches you match and can send people to other pages on your site. That is useful, and it is exactly what needs a weekly look: which new searches did it pick up, which pages did it send people to, and did any of it turn into customers.

So the setup I use is simple. Let the AI do the work it is good at, and keep a human on the parts it cannot judge: goals, tracking, brand, budget and what counts as a good customer.

What one hour a week looks like

What it costs

I charge $50 an hour, with no retainer and no percentage of ad spend. One hour a week comes to about four to five hours a month, plus a setup session at the start to fix tracking and structure. Your ad budget goes straight to Google.

It fits small businesses that already run Google Ads and suspect the money is not working as hard as it could, and businesses about to start that want it set up right the first time.

Terms you will hear

AI Max for Search
A set of AI features that sits on top of a normal Search campaign: wider search matching, AI-generated ad text and final URL expansion. It works with automated bidding, not manual CPC.
Performance Max
A campaign type where Google's AI chooses where your ads run across Google's channels, including Search and YouTube, from one campaign.
Smart Bidding
Automated bidding that sets a bid for every auction, toward a goal such as Maximize Conversions, a target cost per acquisition or a target return on ad spend.
Human-in-the-loop
An AI process where a person reviews and approves the important decisions. Here: the AI runs the account day to day, I check and steer it weekly.

FAQ

Can AI manage my Google Ads on its own?
Google's AI already does a lot: bidding, matching searches to your ads and writing ad variations. What it cannot do is decide what your business actually wants. It optimizes toward whatever conversion signal it gets, so if tracking counts junk leads, it buys more junk leads. Someone has to set the goals and check the results.
What does human-supervised mean here?
I review your account one hour a week. I check the search terms the AI matched you to, block the wrong ones, watch budget pacing, confirm conversion tracking still works and adjust targets. The AI does the minute-by-minute work, I make the decisions.
Which AI campaign types do you use?
Mainly Search campaigns with Smart Bidding and AI Max, and Performance Max where it fits, for example for stores with a product feed. AI Max relies on automated bidding such as Maximize Conversions or Maximize Conversion Value, so tracking has to be right first.
How much does it cost?
$50 an hour with no retainer and no percentage of ad spend. One hour a week is about four to five hours a month, plus a setup session at the start. Your ad budget is paid directly to Google.
Do I keep my Google Ads account?
Yes. The account and all the data stay yours. I work in it with access you can remove at any time.
